RumlogNG 5.18.2 hangs on M1 Mac

RumlogNG 5.18.2 hangs in M1 Mac with Sequoia 15.1, this issue is observed at random times and it is repeating.

Configuration
Hardware : M1 Mac with 8GB RAM and Sequoia 15.1
RumlogNG Version : 5.18.2
Log book : iCloud Synced Log book
Number of log entries ; ~ 3000 QSO
Radio - Flex 6000

I use RumlogNG as my main logging program and the FT8 QSOs from the SMART SDR is logged on its log book and broadcasted to RumlogNG via UDP. This setup was running for months without nay problem and the hang issue of RumLog NG is observed since one month.

I use the SMART SDR for MAC in the same system and the FT8 QSO from SmartSDR's log book is broadcasted to the RumlogNG, Since the hang issue is happening at random time, the QSO logs from SMART SDR is not getting added in the RumLog. I have configured multiple clusters including my local CW and FT8 Skimmer in Rumlog.
I also use the Spot to Flex functionality from RumlogNG.

I have performed multiple tests before reporting here, following are my observations

1) the hang issue is observed even if the cluster connection is disabled .
2) hang issue is observed even if the QSO logs are entered manually ( SSB QSO) where there is no UDP broad cast from the SmartSDR for Mac.


Activity Monitor from the M1ac is attached here, this screen shot is taken when the RumlogNG starts hanging. It appears the resource consumption at the time of application hang is at normal levels.

Appreciate any help in solving this problem

I too have this issue from last few months. I have observed these issues on a M1 Mac mini as well as an M3 MacBook.I am also on Sequoia 15.0.1.
I can't pinpoint the source of this problem. The app hangs while running. Sometimes it's during logging, otherwise even when it's idle. It hangs more if I take DXCC entities. or if I recalculate DXCCs.I have about 60k QSOs in my log.

I had written to Tom and he was trying to help on email. We tried another (possibly patched) app, but no luck.

I also read about Google accounts if configured, takes lot of resources through their contacts. I also noticed a contactsd in activity monitor hogging lot of CPU resources and killed it and disabled contacts on all my google accounts configured in accounts. The crashes are less frequent now, but it's there still.

Hope Tom can come up with a solution.

Vinod and all,

I disabled the cloud logbook, created a fresh local logbook and tested. No issues. I then imported all my QSOs to this new local logbook and still no issues. So for the time being, I will ditch the iCloud logbook and use the local file.

Will report back on this thread if there are any further updates.
