CW with Icom IC-910H

Unread post by PE2V »

Hello,

I love RUMlogNG and use it a lot with my IC-7300. And it is also possible with RUMlogNG to send CW too (only in contest) with the internal Icom keyer.

But I own a IC-910H and with that TRX it is more complex. I also have a OptoCat MK2 interface with key output. Thats cool but..... For PTT it uses RTS and for CW it uses DTR (RS-232/USB port). Is it possible to use it this way in RUMlogNG? I can set PTT to RTS and works with digital modes but CW doesn't, because I can't set CW to DTR. Or am I missing a setting?

Thanks for any help!

RL doesn't have a build in CW keyer.

I know but it can key the transceiver like it does with the 7300 over CAT. And I don’t know how it technically works, so please sorry when I talk nonsense probably.

Oh wait, I’m awake now. I have to set the IC910 to straight key, and therefore it does NOT use the internal keyer. So I need a keyer. And since RL does not have a build in keyer, it wil never work the way I thought. Clear.
