Introduction |
General
Rotor is a full- featured antenna rotor controller app for macOS. It can control up to 9 rotors. It is capable of automatically tracking stations and satellites with both azimuth and elevation and currently supports following rotor protocols:
- SPID (currently Azimuth only)
- Yaesu (GS-232A, GS-232B)
- DCU-1
- EA4TX ARS-USB
- Sarcnet Mk-1 (EasyComm)
- Green Heron RT-21 (DCU-1)
- Prosistel (CBOX 2003 controller)
A lot of controllers use one of these protocols or a dialect. If your rotor doesn’t work, contact the author.
In connection with Ham Radio Logger RumLogNG available in the AppStore free of charge (RUMlogNG Mac App Store) it can control most of today’s modern radios to compensate for satellite doppler shifts.
System Requirements
- macOS 10.13 or newer
- RumLogNG 5.2 or newer (optional, required for full functionality)
- Rotor-Interface with USB
- Rotor app
- Transceiver with CAT control (optional for automated satellite operations)
Installation
Download the Rotor.zip file from the link below. Double click to unzip it. Move the Rotor.app application to your Applications folder.
Architecture
It is important to understand that each rotor has its own set of control windows and settings. Even when you have just one physical rotor, you can use multiple configurations for different use cases. Some settings are shared across all rotor instances:
- User location (grid square)
- Use of tabbed Prediction windows
- Satellite frequency schedule
