Change callsign for portable operation

Unread post by N4ADK »

Hi,

I was wondering how, if needed, to change my callsign from N4ADK to N4ADK/P for the contacts I made yesterday while portable. Is there a way to do this, if so, how? Or, does it not matter? I am just worried that if I don't change it then the contact info uploaded to LoTW will not match resulting in no QSLs.

Thank you

Hi!
For my portable operation i started a new logbook in my case for callsign DF1HX/P .
In the settings, they are stored in each logbook file, i set the call sign for retrieving QSLs from LotW to DX1HX/P
as well.
In my logbook for operating at home, here DF1HX, i inserted DF1HX as well in the settings/LotW section.
If you don't set the correct callsign, RUMlogNG will spit error messages about those QSLs "not in log" when retrieving data
from LotW.
So when operating portable i open/use logbook file DF1HX/p, when operating from home station just the logbook file DF1HX

You should read the LoTW FAQ as well: https://lotw.arrl.org/lotw-help/frequen ... ccportable

Please note, RUMlog supports multiple locations for LoTW uploads.
If you want to keep all your QSOs (from the same DXCC) in a single log you can do this. You can download LoTW QSLs for all of your callsigns at once.

Ok, so I'm currently waiting for a LoTW certificate for N4ADK/P. Once I get it, do I submit all of my portable contacts to that individual LoTW account? Also, where do I specify each portable contact's location?

Run the tqsl application and see the Location menu for adding new operating locations.

Once you have uploaded all QSOs to LoTW before you are working /p and you are back home, select the appropriate location in the RUMlog LoTW preferences before the next upload. It is also possible to let the Location empty, tqsl will ask for the location for each upload.

Please note, you can upload only the selected QSOs to LoTW if you want to upload your QSOs for different locations.
