QSL Handling

Unread post by ve7bzr »

Dear Folks,

I participate in contests now and then.

This results in my receiving a batch of QSL's after each contest.

I can upload my contest logs to RUMlog and II would like to be able to use Rumlog (or another program if anyone knows of one) to print labels for ONLY the QSL cards I receive.

I am not interested in printing out QSL cards for every contact, just for those to whom I would like to send a QSL card. The RUMlog program does not seem to allow this.

(I suppose I could go through the entire log and manually edit each and every contact to set it to not print, but this seems a little ridiculous.)

Is there an easy way to do this in RUMlog or should l look elsewhere to solve my problem?

(I discussed this with the programmer of MacLogger a couple of years ago, but he was not able to offer me a solution using his program.)

Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Here is the solution:
During the import routine RUMlog asks you how you want to handle the QSLs --> Select "Never"
ADIF Import.png
When your exporting program uses a <qsl> tag with an undesired information (QSL requested or queued), you can use a simple text editor to remove these tags. (<qsl_rcvd> or <qsl_sent>) Just use the "Find and Replace" command to remove or modify these tags. Nonsense tags will be ignored during the import. ( I could add an 'Override' option, so the qsl tags will be ignored always. Then you don't have to modify your ADIF file.)
When you get paper QSLs use the "QSL in Window" to mark these QSOs: Menu-->QSL-->Paper QSL in
During the next print job, only these received QSLs will be answered and printed.

BTW, for already imported QSOs you can print all QSLs to a file or to "Preview". This will mark all QSOs as 'QSL sent' as well. When you get now the paper QSL use the "QSL in Window" to change the QSL Status back to 'R', just by hitting the 'R' key instead of the Enter Key.
