Activity Map Own QSOs

Unread post by EA7LDW »

Hi all,

I'm a new RUMLogNG user and really impressed with its possibilities and the quantity of information and different ways of showing it it has.

I'd like to use the Activity Map to show my own QSOs but when I open in I only see an empty map but nothing else even by trying to change the distance selector or the rest of options.

I've read here in the forum that it will show only the QSOs I'll make after opening the map, but even so I'm unable to see nothing in the map.

Do the QSOs have to be confirmed? What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance for the help and to Tom for his great work.

Hi again,

Just to update info.

At least the QSO generated from WSJTX are displayed! Not so with those I enter manually.

Any way to show all them?

Thanks in advance.

I am having the same issue. How do I use the "My QSO's" map? ( Window / Activity Map / My QSO's") Every time I open that map, it is just a map with no pins.

Hi KA0KPP

After some time using the app I've noticed that it only shows the QSOs after you open it.

And yes, now I see FT8 QSOs and Phone QSO.

All working, but only before max 8 hours opening the app

I hope it helps

EA7LDW -- thanks. I see that too. Not 100% consistently. If I do 4 contacts (1, 2, 3, and 4 ... it might show 1, 2, and 4, skipping 3). I wish I could just select a section of contacts and it showed me on the map with the arcs, even for past contacts (ones that happened say days ago).

I find it just partly useful, even the zoom level doesn't allow me to show all contacts sometimes.

For real "big-data" mapping I use

http://tools.adventureradio.de/analyzer/

and some other times

https://qslworld.com

In case it can be helpful.

The activity maps show the current activity with a selectable lifetime! You have to note, the position of the station must be known somehow.
If you want to show other stations from your log, use Menu-->QSO-->Show selected stations on the map.

Thanks! I can get that to work.
Is there an option to turn off (or change color of) the country codes? They are bright red, and they make the purple pins very hard to see. I'd like to just be able to see the pins (or make them very prominent).
Separately, if there was a way to further zoom out the map, that would help.
