gm group,
I recently tried RUMlog 3.10.1 running on my MacMini (1,66GHz CoreDuo, 2GB RAM, OSX 10.5.7).
As I'd like to have some automation with the rig - just data transfer into the logbook-prg (frequency, mode transferred to the log would be minimum, logging split would be even better) and following some cluster-spots by switching band/freq/mode on a mouse-click I tried to connect with my K3 (as TS570 because Kenwood command-structure is likely similar to Elecraft) there is no joy.
No chance finding any real USB-ports (MMini has 4 of them) to show up in the preferences menu. There are only two choices offered: one is the Bluetooth-Modem and the second one ist Bluetooth-PDA-Sync. I have three USB-serial-adapters connected to the ports (two for the K3s, one for the rotor). I can successfully use all three under DXlab-suite running Windoze XP3 (which I rather like to get rid of by finding some OSX-logging-sw).
Any help is _VERY_ much appreciated!

Hi Wolf,
have you tried to install the driver for USB/Serial converter?

indeed ... one senior moment more ...

I forgot to install the driver. Actually I thought I had that done already long time ago. But that wasn't true. After my cry for help I tried the K3-Tool (which I knew of had been working b4) but that failed.
So apparently the RAM between the ears had a bit failure. After installing the driver immediately ... what a big surprise

So now to become comfortable with RUMlog ... the learning curve to start!

Only in very few cases a Mac driver is provided with an USB-Serial Adapter, but it is required. For the chip inside, here are three major manufacturer only. Maybe you can find the manufacturer in your System Profiler under the USB section:
