Satellite QSO's?

Unread post by KL7MJ »

Is there any way to log a satellite QSO? If not, can you please add it to the to do list? Thanks!

I'm not familiar with satellite logging. What is required? What do you need to log? What are you expecting?

Tom -
I'm just getting into satellites, so I may get some of the details wrong...
Satellite QSOs are split band operations. Here's what EQSL has for satellite mode choices (in the band column):
SAT A
SAT B
SAT J
SAT K
SAT KT
SAT L
SAT R
SAT RA
SAT RK
SAT RT
SAT S
SAT T
SAT US

I will admit that I don't know what they all mean. From what I understand, AO-51 operates in J mode (2M uplink, 70CM downlink). Could you add these modes to the list of band choices? Thanks, and thanks for a great program!

Heavy stuff, Mike.
It's not only the logging. Export/Import routines, Paper-, LotW- and eQSL QSLing. Unfortunately eQSL and LoTW have different requirements for the data to upload. It takes a little bit time.
It would be useful, when here is a more advanced satellite user to support me.

Tom -
I don't know about the data model, but in eQSL it looks like the satellite modes are just additional bands. I'm not sure how it works in LoTW. I hope someone with more satellite experience can help.
