Try to use the command: Menu-->Transceiver-->Init TRX#1

I tried that, it doesn't seem to have any effect. Just to be sure, this is what I have to do. I have to start RUMlog, remove the radio and save. Put in the radio and save and it works for that time in RUMlog. When I restart, I have to do the same. I have tried using disconnect TRX, then reinit etc, no joy.
I don't think it is me. The K3 works as expected. I have also tried the 7100 as a stand alone radio in TRX1 with the same problem. As TRX 2 I can use the above procedure and replicate it every time.

Do you have the possibility to connect the radio via the CI-V bus using an old fashioned interface, not via USB?
When I start RUMlog, the IC-7100 cannot be seen. If I remove the radio's in preferences then put in the 7100, it sees it and works. When I quit RUMlog and then restart it, I have to do the same again.
When you connect the radio and restart RUMlog, are all settings under the TRX tab still the same?
Is there no control in both direction? RUMlog to radio, radio to RUMlog?
Is the following correct?
You set the TRX to Nil and saves it.
You set the TRX to IC-7100 and saves it. Then it is working?

Hi Tom,
no control in either direction. I am sorry but I don't have the standard CiV interface. Your last statement is correct. I remove the radio, save, add the radio, save and it works.

Download this version:
http://dl2rum.de/rumsoft/RUMlogToTest.zip
The TRX must be configured as number 1!
Make the Main window wider to see the small window right of the Station Info Box. Here you see now all the traffic between the radio and the program.

This was not expected. But now we are sure, that the initialization sequence is correct.
Do you have set the baud rate to a fixed value?
Let's try this:
- Please change the radio hex address to 58h
- In RUMlog select the IC-706MKII
- Try again.

Hi Tom,
The baud rate on the radio is set to auto. It appears that 19k6 is the highest it will handle. I set as you suggested. The second beta you sent me still does not work but the first works, however, I have to reinit the radio once RUMlog is up, it does not see it automatically.

Do not use the Auto setting!
Not sure about your answer: do you have tried the IC-706 setting?

Hi Tom,
I set it as you suggested with the hex address at 58h and 706. The results were as above. I had to manually init the radio to get RUMlog to see it. I will try with a fixed baud rate.
