Hello Tom,
Thank you very much for this great program. I recently got a Macbook Pro and RUMlog is the perfect program together with my Elecraft K3 and MKII - it works like a charm!
Unfortunately there is a problem with the 'Note' field: if you click on a spot in the band map and you already had a contact with this station before the note field is populated with the information from the previous contact (which usually is fine). If you now click on a different spot (e.g. a new one) frequency and callsign are updated but the note field remains (is not cleared). This can be quite confusing - if you press enter because you have worked the station there is wrong information in this record.
I'm interested in various awards (IIA, DIE, DIFM, WFF, ...) and keep all the reference numbers in the note field (unfortunately there are no user definable award fields), therefore it's important to have the notes correct.
Is there a possibility to clear the complete log window if you click on a new spot?
BTW, it would be great to have some default values for RS(T) in preferences. When I click on a new spot or enter a new call this default value (usually 59(9)) should be used. Please apologize if this feature already is available, but I was unable to find it.
Thanks in advance,

Note Field not Cleared
Re: Note Field not Cleared
Well, this is the way it currently works. Other users have seen this problem before, but we haven't found a solution yet. Often I use it in the other way. I enter data manually first into the Note field and after that I click on a dx spot to take over the data. In this case the dx spot would override or delete my entered data. Only when pressing the Escape key or Command W data will be deleted.Unfortunately there is a problem with the 'Note' field: if you click on a spot in the band map and you already had a contact with this station before the note field is populated with the information from the previous contact (which usually is fine). It is a good practice to clear the required fields yourself, before clicking a spot.Is there a possibility to clear the complete log window if you click on a new spot?
The default value is 59(9). You can not change it. But when you are logging one QSO after the other, the report will not change. When you gave 559 and you log these QSO, the 559 will be the default value for the next QSO.BTW, it would be great to have some default values for RS(T) in preferences. For both of your problems I could add an user selectable option in the preferences. Due to my duties, I'm currently not able to make these changes in RUMlog until end of september.

Re: Note Field not Cleared
Hi Tom,
Thank you for your quick answer. A selectable option in preferences would be great. Most often I get 59(9) reports but here and then maybe a 55. I then forget to reset this to 59 for the next QSO and 55 will be carried over to the next contacts as well so a reset to a default value for every new contact really would be great (as an option).
Regarding the note field - I simply have to be more careful, and the wipe command (Command W) will make this more easy (like in CT/Wintest).
Enjoy your stay.
