FT8 frequency wrong after logging contact

Unread post by W4kmz »

Hello,

I’m new to RumlogNG, I’ve searched the help file and here as barest as I can but couldn’t find an answer to this.

I have WSJTX, Gridtracker, and Rumlog talking to each other while working FT8. Upon completing the contact, it is showing up in Rumlog but every one of the QSO's show 14.076.5 as the frequency recorded. The radio is set on 14.074 and I have not been able to determine where the 14.076.5 is pulling from.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Set up is:
Yaesu FT710
Mac Mini M2
The latest stable versions of Rumlog, Gridtracker and WSJTX.

Thanks.

14076.5 kHz (+80 Hz) is the frequency where your QSO took place - your exact tx frequency. 14074 kHz was just your selected VFO frequency and this means nothing.

Thank you for the quick reply.

I understand what you are saying but I don’t really understand it. I know WSJTX transmits on a “split” but in my case the radio shows 14.075 on WSJTX transmit. If it was actually transmitting on 14.076.5 I would expect that to show on the VFO.

Unfortunately, this creates a second issue for me. When I export the .ADIF file to LoTW and QRZ it lists the 14.076.5 frequency. This is causing a mismatch in the QSL as the “expected” FT8 frequency is 14.074 (at least that’s what I’ve seen here in the states).

Other that doing a batch edit on the QSO's before export is there any way to have the 14.074 frequency logged?

This has nothing to do with split. When in USB your tx frequency is your VFO frequency + the audio tone frequency.
Do not expect any problems with LoTW or qrz.
