How can I convert ADIF to Cabrillo using a Mac?

Unread post by N4DJ »

I am a new Mac user. I have found a couple logs that I would like to use but they only will export ADIF files. RUMlog will import ADIF and Cabrillo but seems only to export ADIF. I have been looking for a way to convert to Cabrillo to submit my log for a contest.

Welcome Don,

RUMlog is not designed for contest logging, use RUMped (http://dl2rum.de/rumsoft/RUMPed.html) instead. The problem is, there is no general specification for a Cabrillo file. Every contest may use an own specification, see http://www.kkn.net/~trey/cabrillo/qso-template.html for details.

Which contest do you worked? In RUMped you could import your ADIF file and export it in Cabrillo. If you are not familiar with that, I could do it for you.

Maybe you can find an online converter.

Thanks Tom. I would try RUMped but I am not sure how to get and run the necessary MySQL. It seems like I can not find a quick and easy program to do the 160 meter contest this weekend. I just got my Mac set up last week. I will have to use the old PC laptop with K1EA CT until I get something for the Mac. I read about the MYSQL problems and I do not know enough about the Mac to try it right now. Also have to fix my amplifier power supply before the contest. I got new parts yesterday. Soon as I get that fixed I will be looking again for log program to use for the contest!

Well, RUMped may be tricky for a beginner to configure. An easier way is to use MAMP. See here: http://dl2rum.de/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=32&p=299
It should work out the box now.
