5.9.1(536) - Log window columns resetting in Ventura

Unread post by NH6O »

I posted this to the Facebook group yesterday, but noticed on my second startup of RUMlogNG under Ventura macOS 13 that all my log window columns had been reset to their default order and widths from my custom layout. I thought perhaps the preference for Table Column Autoresizing had been changed, and I confirmed that it was set to "No."

When I opened the program today, my log windows were again reset to default order and width.

Restoring my last plist file created in Monterey using Time Machine does fix the columns, so there is definitely some kind of plist problem happening. I have attached copies of the working Monterey plist and the new Ventura plist that won't keep the column data.

Can you check why this behaviour is occurring, Tom?

Do not post plist files here since your personal and private information (login data) are included!
I've heard about user rights problems under Ventura - not RUMlog specific! When you have manipulated the sandbox directory, RUMlog may have problems to access or update your data.
Maybe you should delete the plist file:
  • Quit RL
  • Delete the file
  • Reboot your Mac

I deleted the plist and rebooted, restarted RUMlogNG, and reconstructed my columns again. They did not stay in place when I quit and restarted the program. I then reinstalled the old plist from Monday. The columns stayed in place for several app closures/restarts, but then reverted again to defaults when I reopened the app 15 minutes later.

I wonder what is changing in the OS or the plist that keeps the columns as desired for a while, but then loses the layout data?

I am having the same experience, of log columns resetting. I do like to customize the log column display and have enjoyed this feature in the past.

Same problem here. I thought it was just me!

WSJT-X is also acting a bit flaky as well since the upgrade.

I now regret upgrading to Ventura since I am lucky enough to have a MacBook Air M1 that I bought just for RUMlogNG and WSJT-X use. No gain with the upgrade, only pain.

I haven't experienced any column resets since installing 5.10 and 5.10.1.

Same problem here once updated to Ventura.
Columns keep resetting to default and the selected configuration doe snot stay in place.

I am looking froward to test 5.10 to see if it fixed there as mentioned in a previous post.
