IC-7300 Mode Glitch with WSJT or JTDX

Unread post by G0KOM »

Anyone running WSJT-x or JTDX integrated with RumlogNG and and IC-7300, just started using FT8 and JTDX and WSJT-X run perfectly fine on their own as does RumlogNG, when I setup JTDX to integrate with RumlogNG all works perfectly apart from if I either TX or just even make a change within JTDX or WSJT whilst integrated the mode glitches from USB-D to USB two times then all is fine again, happens anytime I do anything in the programme or anytime I TX FT8, it only glitches twice then all is fine, this only happens after I have set it up to integrate with RumlogNG, if I run the FT8 software on its own the glitch doesnt happen, any ideas

X-post!

That's normal, you can disregard this behaviour.
WSJT-X wants to reset the operating mode after each transmission. On an Icom you can't set USB Data mode directly. You have to command USB first and later on you have to switch on the Data mode. That's why the mode indication is flickering.

Thanks for the explanation Thomas, have removed the X Post from FB, appreciate your time, why then does it not do it when im running JTDX or WSJT-X stand alone only when integrated through rumlog, using the DXlaps server setting for radio, very strange indeed

Maybe a different timing? I don't know. Some commands are sent twice by RUMLog, just to make sure. Sometimes a command is lost in the line.
