K7PT Errors

Unread post by K6LE »

Most of the time when I start up RUMlog I get a "K7PT Error"

Has something changed?

Hi Rick,

I haven't experienced this before. I start RUMlog at least twice a day. Is the error message "K7PT Error:"? Please note the colon.
This would mean a simple http status error (all codes except 200), while downloading the data. After the colon, the content of the page should be shown. When there is no further text, it seems the problem is on the server side.
When this happens again, please check this url in a web browser: http://www.k7pt.com/scl.xml

In the next RUMlog update, this error message will show the http error code for clarification.

Tom,

Thanks for the response.

This morning it worked fine and I got a DXCC.rsd update.

I'll watch the error code if or when it happens again.

This morning (ca. 0845z) I have had this trouble also. Sometimes the server sent wrong formatted xml code and sometimes he was not answering at all. After 5 minutes it was working again as expected.
Seems to be a server side problem. I will have a look on it. RUMlog looks for new data at startup and later every 4 hours. The database is updated once a day by K7PT.
