Faroe Island

Unread post by km1g »

I love RUMlog and RUMped, but find glitches. I worked OY2J today, Faroe Islands, yet RUMlog can't see it as DXCC. When I run EditDXCC the line (OY) is there. I'm no software guy, but Faroe has been its own DXCC for years: I worked it in the early 80s, before we had personal computers.

Without RUMlog seeing Faroe in the table (even though it's there), it puts question marks in "DXCC," and won't transfer it out to LoTW. So, no LoTW credit in DXCC for the QSO. The same goes for some frequencies: even though the freq is right, and in the right place, RUMlog won't recognize the band (as opposed to freq), and puts "??" for band. So, no LoTW transfer. No credit. No QSL. :|

How to fix?

Hmm, here it works fine:

I worked OY2J for years ago.
Make sure you have entered "Oskar Yankee", not "Zero Yankee"
Make sure you have the line OY as well in the Prefix table:

When the frequency is not converted into a correct band, your band settings are not correct! The default band edges are good the Europeans. For the US band plan you have to extend at least the 80m and 40m band. Edit the table in the RUMlog Preferences under the QRGs/Modes tab for your needs.

I hope this helps.

THANK you! I suspected the band table was wrong. It's fixed. But Faroe looks right. Am posting screen shots of the required tables. I hope you can open them, and they tell us something. Better still, I hope to learn from this, so I won't need your help anymore. RUMlog and RUMped (especially!) are wonderful!
