Trying to let RUMlogNg to QSY and control JTDX

Unread post by f5ukw »

Hello Thomas,

(Again, really appreciate your outstanding work)

I'm trying to control JTDX from RUMlogNG, which means, when I ask him to QSY I was hoping JTDX Would do it as well :D

I tried to follow this procedure: https://dl2rum.de/RUMlogNG/docs/en/pages/WSJT.html but documentation is probably a bit outdated.

Sending QSO from JTDX to RUMlogNG was easy, trying to control JTDX from RUMlogNG is still a challenge.

Thanks for your help

Attachement may help to understand my issue, and what I'm doing wrong

RUMlog doesn't have any CAT control in your setup! You haven't selected any transceiver model.
  1. Get CAT control working
  2. Connect external apps to RUMlog

sorry you mean setting TX like this?

What do you mean "Connect external apps to RUMlog"?

The best approach is to let RUMlog do the CAT control. Other apps control the trx via RUMlog.
Can you control your trx via network as selected?

RUMlog can't just tell WSJT-X/JTDX to switch on specific frequency / mode ? Like would do TCI protocol for exemple?

JTDX control TX on PC (ip1)
RUMlog is just keeping log updated (ip2)

I only wish I could make switch and QSY JTDX to appropriate QRG selected on ClusterView for RUMlog

As far as I know, you can't do this. WSJT-X doesn't support TCI.

WSJT-X/JTDX are supporting nicely TCI

I'm using it with ExpertSDR3 and FT2000

Can't find it in WSJT-X. You never mentioned ExpertSDR! Then you can connect direct to it from multiple clients.

I have 2 JTDX instances

One running with TCI protocol and being controlled with ExpertSDR
the other one is using regular CAT control for FT2000

the one I was in need to control was the FT2000

Seems it's not possible for now.

Take care

It's possible, RUMlog just needs the CAT control.
