Hello There,

The next round of a Hungarian VHF / UHF competition ("URH Hungarian Cup" R.f. Competition Series (MK-VHF, UHF, SHF)) will take place soon.

I went through some of the VHF/UHF contest mentioned here on the forum, some of them quite good to use, but I couldn’t find one that would score differently per band based on the distance bridged. Is there any? Which one do you recommend?

Maybe the part of the source where the definition of contest/rules is available somewhere? This could help to clarify such questions on its own, not to mention that the preparation of contests could be outsourced in this way. Sorry if this is not a good idea ...

Summarized rules of the competition mentioned above:
Time: every year, in the following rounds:
  • First round: on the first full weekend in March, Saturday from 14:00 UT to Sunday 13:59 UT (all bands from 2m)
  • Second round: on the first full weekend in May, Saturday from 14:00 UT to Sunday 13:59 UT (all bands from 2m)
  • Third round: on the first full weekend in June, Saturday from 14:00 UT to Sunday 13:59 UT (all bands from 23cm)
Categories:
  • SINGLE-OP, ALL BAND
  • SINGLE-OP 6H, ALL BAND
  • MULTI-OP ALL BAND
Modes: CW, SSB, FM

Exchange: RS/RST plus serial number starting with 001 per band and WW QTH position (eg 589 011 JN97HP).

The end result is the sum of the points earned per kilometer per band:
  • on 2m 1 point for every kilometer
  • on 70cm 1.5 point for each km
  • on 23cm 2 points, on 13cm and above 3 poins per km
Logs: Should be uploaded in EDI format.
Thank you so much!

Hi Tom,

It is the first time that I ask for including contests rules, I hope I will be right with the information required of if it is possible to add them:

EACW Club Meeting
MODE: CW
Exchange:
RST + number membership EACW + Nickname (599 393 RICK)
RST + nickname + Province for non members (599 RICK M)
For all other stations RST + nickname + prefix DXCC

Usually they use N1MM (just for Windows though) and it seems that the program could load a TXT with all the membership database so when you type number of membership it gets already the data. Attached just in case it helps.

SKCC
# SKCC Event Sprint Wes and other contests
# SKCCEVENT
# SKCCSPRINT
# SKCCWES

exchange : RST, QTH, operator name, and SKCC number (attached SKCC database used in N1mm too)

Thanks!

Re: List of supported contests - Request Add Florida QSO Party Contest to RUMlog's List of Supported Contests

Hi DL2RUM,

Your RUMlogNG (for Apple MacOS) and RUMlog2Go (on iOS/iPadOS) are now my favorite contest logging applications. Thanks for all the programming and support you provide for these excellent software products.

I would like to request that you consider adding the "Florida QSO Party" (Contest ID: "FCG-FQP") to the list of supported contests in those ham radio applications. Additional information about this contest can be found at these links:

  • Correct and full contest name
  • Categories
  • Who can participate?
  • Allowed bands and modes
  • Points, Multipliers
  • Exchange
  • Log format / Cabrillo example
Adding a new contest is a lot of work. You should consider to use the General contest template when these are are very specific local contests.

Re: List of supported contests - Request Add "ARRL International Digital Contest" (ARRL-DIGI)

Unread post by K4QR »

Hi Tom Linder/DL2RUM (RUMLogNG's Developer),

Can you add the new "ARRL International Digital Contest" (Contest ID: "ARRL-DIGI") to RUMlogNG?

It's too late for this year's (2022) running of that contest because it starts today (4 June 2022) and ends tomorrow (5 June 2022). However, I hope you can incorporate it into the list of supported contests by next year's (2023) running.

The rules for that contest are at this link (URL):

ARRL's Contests at:
https://contests.arrl.org/ContestRules/ ... -Rules.pdf

Additional information about that contest is also available at this link (URL):

WA7BNM's Contest Calendar at:
https://www.contestcalendar.com/contest ... hp?ref=716

We appreciate all the hard, development (programming) work you put into making RUMlogNG (and its mobile companion software) an excellent ham radio logging program for users of Apple computers and mobile devices.

UPDATE to contest currently supported:

The K1USN Slow Speed Test has added 10m and 15m bands. The contest window currently stated **Band is not allowed**

Rules are detailed here:

http://www.k1usn.com/sst_rules.html
http://www.k1usn.com/sst.html

Is it possible to update the current contest with the two bands that have been added?

Thank you,

Another weekly CW test that could be added to the contest window:

ICWC MST Contest

Rules are located here:

https://internationalcwcouncil.org/mst-contest/

This is similar to the weekly CWT and SST contest, except there is a serial number involved with the exchange.

Thank you,
