IC756

Hi

I am trying to manage IC756 from RMNG and facing some troubles. Attached the configuration.

Menu of IC756: CI-V baud rate = 9600, CI-V address = 50h (default), CI-V transceive ON

I have tried the same configuration with TRX1 and TRX2 and there is not way to change the frequency but...

If configure TRX1 = TRX2 and keep both activated, only change the frequency of IC756 (and not always) if I choose DX spot and then RESET CAT#2.. but not in all the times...

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

Why do you use 2 stop bits?
Are you sure you have to use rts and dtr?

Sorry, I did not pay attention to that. There were the configurations for FT857 and are different for IC756.

Stop bits are 1, parity none and DTR/DSR as flow control. Now works fine. Thanks!

By the way, could it be possible that RUMLogNG can change perfectly the QRG of the IC756 but can not read the frequency from it? (I mean, if I change the freq in the rig it is not updated in RUMLogNG) In the case of FT857D there was a bidirectional communication and it seems that it is not the case for IC756, am I right?

Thanks

It should work in the same way. Why do you have set DTR/DSR for flow control? The standard Icom CI-V interface doesn't support it.

Yes I know, I was just testing all the possible options just in case .. and the picture was related to the test.

In theory it should be 8 bits, no parity, 1 stop bit and no flow control but and speed should be the same (I tested with 4800, 9600 and 19200), all of them in TRX2 (I suppose that it will work the same as TRX1)

Works fine in one way but no in the other...

Check if "CI-V Transceive" option in your trx is selected ON.

Thanks, yes, it is ON,

By the way, I am using a driver for Prolific (Repleo-PL2303-0020111D) for the CAT cable that I've got for FT817 with a specific converter to CI-V. Could it be the reason? At least it works in one way, it is not critic if I changing QRG in the rig it is not reflected in RUMLog but it would be desirable (so far I have been doing everything manually and I am still alive so..)

Tonight I will test a Bluetooth dongle with this adaptor just in case is related to the Prolific chipset

Hola Juan

I had the same problem with my IC705MkIIG and solved turning off one CIV option in the rig settings (I think Tom already told you this) but a paste you my previous post from an old thread.

Kind regards,

Hi

I have solved also the issue on RUMlog not following the transceiver (my fault... )

In the CV-I menu of the transceiver I had selected the transmit option to off! Speed can also set to Auto and everything works fine.

Thanks Tom.

Hola Esteban (me alegro de volver a contactar contigo, todo bien)

Thanks for your information but I have tried with IC756 and it does not work. I only have 4 options in CI-V menu:

CI-V baud: AUTO
CI-V address:_ 50h (default)
CI-V transceive: ON (if Off it does not work)
CI-V with IC-731: Off

In any case, thanks for your suggestions
