Filling Logbook Fields from Contest Exchange

In the recent North America QSO Party, the exchange information is Name + State. Importing the contest file to my logbook worked fine, but It would be very convenient if the State information in the received exchange field could be mapped to the corresponding logbook field. I did include the received exchange data in the Note field during the import. The only way I could find was to edit each QSO individually to enter the State field. Is there any way to automate this? Perhaps a generalized field mapping could be included in the contest import process?

Thanks,
Mike

If you don't need the data from the QSO itself, there's the QSO -> Add QSO Data menu from the main log.

You are right. There is already a provision for that, but it must be set up for each contest individually. I have to update this contest template.
It should work for States, Provinces, DOKs, IOTA and grid squares where applicable.

Thanks, Tom. That's good to hear that the function is supported.

Thanks also to N3RTW. I haven't used that Add Data function. That is a big time saver, but of course doesn't account for a QSO from a portable/mobile location that might be in a different state.

Just a follow-up on this older request. In yesterday's NAQP-CW contest, I again imported my contest file, and can confirm that it filled in the state/province field in the logbook perfectly. Thanks for making this improvement.

This contest also gave me another chance to get a little more experience with the RL macros and ESM mode. That really worked nicely once I got familiar with it. Very cool function.
