sharing CAT port with script .sh TS590SG

Unread post by ea5xq »

I have connected RUMLOG with TS590SG via USB and it works great. WSJTX is sharing USB via RUMLOG and it works great too with the rig.

I have prepared a script (.sh) that is using TS590SG commands to change some parameters for Dig mode or other modes (CW, SBB) in order to avoid using manual controls. It works fine using USB directly with TS590SG but it have a conflict with RUMLOG, when RUMLOG takes /dev/cu.usbserial for him. I mean that when RUMLOG is using USB connection it is not possible to use other scripts, it seems that it locks the use of the /dev/cu.usbserial..

One solution is using another CAT cable (DB9)that could be used by my script but I do not have one now.

Is there any other option that would allow me to share the same /dev/cu.usbserial... port with RUMLOG? It could be great to know how WSJTX is sharing it with RUMLOG successfully in order to do the same via bash script. Any comment will be much appreciated.

Thanks
