I have a Yaesu FT-991a and I'm able to connect it to WSJT-X no problem whatsoever.
My Settings for WSJT-X are as follows
Baud: 38400
Data Bits: 8
Stop Bits: 1
Handshake: Default
Force Control Lines: nothing
PTT: Method CAT
Mode: Data/Pkt
Split Op: Rig

When setting up in RumlogNG I have
Interface: Serial
For PTT Use: TRX CAT?
Baud Rate: 38400
Stop Bits: 1
Parity: Even?
Flow Control: ?
Power Up Lines:?

I cannot for the life of me get Rumlog to communicate with the radio properly, WSJT-X is NOT running.
Anyone have settings for use with the Yaesu FT-991 or FT-991a?

I have a Yaesu FT-950 and I am having the same issue.
I can configure WSJT-X to work correctly with the CAT interface directly.

But when attempting to configure RUMlogNG Version 5.2 (460) it is not working.

Are you sure you are using the correct USB-Port? You have to load a Silabs driver to be able to connect your FT-991 to the mac. The FT-991 usb connector appears two times as SLAB_USBtoUART and SLAB_USBtoUART with a number at the end of the name. One is the CAT port and the other is the audio port.
You do not need to load the Silabs driver when you use the latest Mac OS Big Sur. But still two instances of the USB connector of the FT-991.
