Hi all,

I'm fairly new to amateur radio and in the last year I have worked my way up the license classes in the UK recently gained my full amateur radio license and what will now be my permanent callsign.

For my previous 2 callsigns I just created a log for the callsign, however now I'll have this callsign forever I was wondering what is the best way to organise my log and how more experienced operators do this. Is it reasonable to have just one log file or do people tend to do it by year or start a new one once they hit a certain number of entries?

I have all my QSOs (including one ex-callsign) in a single logbook file, except dx-pedition logs.

I agree with Tom.
I also use a single log for all my calls and even the contests.
I have not made any DX-pedition, and maybe this would be the exception.
Remember that you can tell the program which call you have used for each contact and even the locator (that can change with each call).

And take also into account that for a DXCC diploma you won't start over again each time you change your call.
I mean that you would like to keep already all your confirmed DXCC countries made with previous calls.

Related to e QSLing, the problem pops up with eQSL that does not provide so much flexibility, as far as I know.
LoTW together with TQSL allows you to define different QTH and different call signs owned by a single person.
You can then upload the contacts with the callsign and QTH you wish from RUMlog to LoTW.
