Is Catalina safe ?

Unread post by Louis ON5EN »

Is Catalina 10.15.2 safe to use with RumLogNG 4.4.1 & TQsl & LotW & others ?
Any (older) Software that is causing trouble ?

RUMLogNG seems to be fine on Catalina, although I have had some issues with the window positions not being remembered.

Hello Ian, while I have no doubts whatsoever about RumLogNG, I do have doubts about TQSL & LotW,
since the ARRL seems to be in no hurry to go 64bits.
Maybe TQSL 2.5.1 is OK now, so they say, but I have grown a distrust about all things M$ hi...
This WE I will take the jump, make a full back-up first, upgrade to Catalina afterwards, run a check and hope for the best...

Yes, it is just fine.

TQSL, RUMlogNG, Fldigi, WSJT-X, and most other software than ran on the last macOS runs just fine on Catalina as well. All are or have 64-bit versions available. Of course, by "older" software, if you mean non-64-bit software, then you'll have problems.
