Does rumlog store the continent in settings?

Unread post by pxforti »

Hi,

I'm having trouble with my uploaded QSOs to QRZ: They are showing the continent EU, but I'm in the US. I looked in all the rumlog settings and I don't see anywhere to enter a continent for QTH. I also use the QSO upload Utility to upload to QRZ, but there is no setting in there for Continent.

I also created a support ticket at QRZ, but they looked into it and said this:

"QRZ does not have a setting to explicitly set the continent in a QSO. It's determined from the location information provided. The one exception to this is in the case of uploaded and API provided QSOs. In this case, if the continent is provided, the value provided is used, even if it's wrong. We can see that your contacts are provided through the API, so this indicates that your software is providing the incorrect continent."

Any ideas where EU is coming from?

Thanks

Hi, I attached a screenshot of an uploaded QSO on QRZ. It shows Continent: EU.
QRZ support says they do not have a setting for Continent and that it's probably uploaded with the API: QSO Upload Utility?

Interesting. Data transfer to qrz.com is via ADIF. In the ADIF specification is no tag defined to manage your own continent! I do not send any continent information from the own station. qrz.com should explain where the data is coming from.
