IC-9700 - can't get freq in contest window + more

Unread post by themusicman »

Hi All

I have now managed to get RUMlogNG to work with my IC-9700 as the 2nd TX, and it appears to be working OK, but not perfectly, as there are a few items I would like to try to get working.

1 - When I set up a 2m contest (specifically, this is one that isn't on the dropdown list of contests supported within RUMlogNG) it's the 'RSGB 144MHz FMAC' contest that runs is running this evening, so I have used 'General Contest' from the dropdown list, however, when I test this out though the frequency of the VFO is correctly displayed in the Control window, no frequency is transferred across to the contest window on setting a QSO. Am I doing something wrong?

2 - When selectingShow Scope from the IC-9700 control window, no scope data is displayed on the iMac screen. Is this not yet functional for the IC-9700

Thanks Tom et al.

The contest interface uses the trx #1 only.
You can see the scope only, when it is visible on the trx.

Ah OK, Tom - so is it OK to amend the set up such that I can use the trx#1 for the 9700 then change back later?

Not sure what you mean with the second point? I can see the scope on the IC9700 screen, with the VFO1 frequency set to an active QSO, but nothing shows in RUMlogNG.

Sorry if I am missing something here?

Oh, I want to see the Scope window.

With 9600 baud it will not work satisfactory. You have to use the highest available speed!

Actually - not sure how to change the baud rate to a faster one! Will research.

Awesome... changed to 115200 and the scope / waterfall now works perfectly Tom.

Still trying to figure out the trx1 change for tonights contest.
