I’ve been working on configuring RUMLogNG for a few weeks with some success. The biggest problem I’m having is using it with wsjt-x. Sometimes with I push the tune button or transmit, the audio switches from the rig to the macs speakers. What am I doing wrong?
OS: high sierra
Rig: Yaesu FT-991a
Drivers downloaded direct from Silicone Labs

Re: Configuring ft-991a
This is a well known problem under macOS, nothing to configure wrong in RUMlog nor in WSJT-X. You should google around about this.
From the WSJT-X manual:
From the WSJT-X manual:
If you are using macOS with an external audio device and find that Tx audio spontaneously switches to the motherboard sound device after a few transmissions, try setting the sample rate to 44100 Hz rather than the otherwise recommended 48000 Hz.

Re: Configuring ft-991a
By trial and error I found the 44,100 settings work better than 48,000. But it still finds its way over to the motherboard audio on send. Can you help make sure my settings are correct? I don't fully understand the different ways cat, rts etc control the rig. I'm interested in adding control for fldigi and winkeyer next.
Re: Configuring ft-991a
Once again: There is nothing you can configure in RUMlog or in WSJT-X regarding the audio problem! With Fldigi you will probably have the same problems.
There are multiple option to switch the PTT. How do you switch the PTT now when running WSJT-X?I don't fully understand the different ways cat, rts etc control the rig.

Re: Configuring ft-991a
I’m using cat. Thank you very much for your help. This has been frustrating to troubleshoot when I don’t understand how all the controls work. The manuals for the rig, wsjtx have not been very clear to me.
Re: Configuring ft-991a
When RUMlog is switching PTT, set PTT in WSJT-X to VOX.
