List of supported contests
Re: List of supported contests
Hi, where do I enter the IOTA reference when I select IOTA contest? I don't see an IOTA field.

Into "Rcvd Number" field.
Enter QSO serial number and IOTA reference number separated by a space.

Unfortunately the section info isn't available in a computer friendly form.DL2RUM wrote:Where should the ARRL Section information come from?
Why dealing with ADIF, was the Cabrillo output from the General contest not sufficient?

The General contest didn't provide for separate fields for the station class and section, or I misunderstood how to use it.
Re: List of supported contests
In the General contest you can enter multiple control number parts separated by a space. The General contest didn't provide for separate fields for the station class and section, or I misunderstood how to use it.
I know about the ARRL section. My understanding was, you want to auto populate the section after entering he callsign?

Re: List of supported contests
Yes we separated the station class and section by a space but it needed to be separate fields in the ADIF to merge with the other stations logs.DL2RUM wrote:In the General contest you can enter multiple control number parts separated by a space. The General contest didn't provide for separate fields for the station class and section, or I misunderstood how to use it.

We manipulated the resulting ADIF to break out the number field to be two separate fields for import into N1MM...
ARRL_SECT
APP_N1MM_EXCHANGE
Also changed the contest name to ARRL-FD
Re: List of supported contests
The ARRL does not use Cabrillo log format for Field Day; if you want to submit a Cabrillo log you can, but you must also submit a complete summary sheet. The "log" that is usually submitted for Field Day is just a dupe sheet, a list by callsign, with separate sections for each band. There are many other point-generating segments of Field Day making it mostly impossible to calculate contest score from the log alone.DL2RUM wrote:Where should the ARRL Section information come from?

The ARRL Field Day Entry Form is submitted at http://www.b4h.net/cabforms/fielddayentry.php Fifty bonus points for submitting the summary sheet through this page.
The ARRL Section list, with the abbreviations that are used for contest logging, is found at
http://www.arrl.org/section-abbreviations
Hope this helps.

Re: List of supported contests
If you want to have the sections pre-filled for you during the contest, most people are using call history files from previous logs to obtain the information. As always, you must make sure you enter in your log what you hear during the exchange, and not blindly depend on the pre-filled information.DL2RUM wrote:

Re: List of supported contests
I would like to see the New England QSO Party Added. Rules are at http://www.neqp.org/rules.html
Exchange is RST and SPC for non-New England. RST, County, and State. List of New England States and Counties is at http://www.neqp.org/counties.html My preference would be that you pre-populate State and County from previous log entries.
Thank you,
Mark/NX1K

Re: List of supported contests
ARRL Sections are listed here: http://www.arrl.org/section-abbreviations
The menu on the left of that page has other details about the sections, if needed.
The "abbreviation" is the exchange on the air, and in the log. A common exchange for this contest might be: <CALLSIGN> <CLASS> <SECTION>
For example: KI4STU 2A VA
The class consists of a digit indicating the number of transmitters followed by a letter indicating class of operation (e.g. A = portable, C = mobile, F = Emergency Operations Center; the rules list all of the classes). The number of transmitters is limited only by the number of available bands. WARC bands are not allowed. But CW, Digital, and Voice are considered separate bands. Because of this, you can have 3 transmitters operating on 40M, one doing CW, one doing RTTY, one doing Phone ... this means 40M actually has "3 bands" for this contest. So the number of transmitters can actually get quite large. In 2016, the largest number of transmitters reported for the contest was 21. In 2015 the largest number was 19.
