New to RUMPed

Unread post by NF4L »

I thought I'd try RUMPed this weekend in the CQWW 'test. I'm using a K3, no interface, AFSK A.

1) How to key the K3? I have set the modem to K3(Tx + cM(Rx). The macros don't respond to %TX %RX like RUMLog.
2) The DX spots item in the Window menu is disabled. I can't connect to a cluster. I have entered one.
3) I don't understand how to handle the state/zone in the exchange. I read the post in another thread about it.

Use the CQWW-RTTY contest template (plug in type) when creating the contest file! Enter first the Zone and then the State separated by a space.
To see the cluster, open the terminal first from Menu-->Window-->Terminal
To key your TRX use the VOX, or cocoaModem supported PTT options.

OK

OK
To key your TRX use the VOX, or cocoaModem supported PTT options.
When I transmit from RUMPed, no tones are generated. Xmit from cM, tones are generated.

i worked the CQWW RTTY 'test and RUMPed worked great!

Does it use the same format DXCC.rsd file as RUMLog? Since my file for RUMLog is more up to date, can I just copy it to the RUMPed folder?

Is there a place (or could one be added) to type in text to send if something isn't in a macro?

Yes, it's the same file.

There is a Keyboard mode provided: Menu-->TRCVR-->Keyboard Mode
Use the RTTY menu for PTT. While you are in the keyboard mode, you can start typing, but you have to select Menu-->RTTY-->Transmit first to start the transmission.
