Re: Bluetooth LE CAT interface

I designed a 3d printed enclosure for the CAT interface. It is published on Printables. You can download the files here:

Re: Keep alive settings on DX Cluster

echo foo will return foo. If the string is sent from HamAlert the connection is still alive.

If this is not practical how can I keep the connection alive as a RL user?

Re: Keep alive settings on DX Cluster

This seems to be wrong, but hamalert.org works. Oops, that was my autocorrect trying to be helpful  Could RL send an echo command before the disconnect and reconnect? This would verify the connection is lost or just idle. HamAlert is very useful for getting specific spots. Thank you, Ryan.

Keep alive settings on DX Cluster

Tom, I use Hamalert for dx cluster spots from hamalert.org. I noticed the connection resets every few minutes. This is constant, so I asked about it on Hamalert forums. Here's what Manuel HB9DQM said: I can reproduce this issue with RUMlogNG on my Mac. Analyzing the network packets with tcpdump, I ...

Re: Bluetooth module for FT-817

After Tom pointed out only Bluetooth LE is supported, I decided to remove the Bluetooth module that came with the dongle and replace it with an Adafruit Bluetooth LE UART Friend. This worked great. To make it easier to use and identify, I changed the baud rate and BT interface name. Using the ...

Re: Bluetooth LE CAT interface

If you would like to change the BT Interface name of your Adafruit Bluetooth LE UART Friend, here's how: Use the Serial Tools app to connect to the serial side of the MAX3232 chip, referenced by VE3MM in an earlier post. "AT+GAPDEVNAME' will show the current name. To change the name (in my case ...

Bluetooth module for FT-817

I found a ready made Bluetooth module that plugs into the ACC port on my Yaesu FT-817. It came at a low price, so I bought it to try. It is powered my the rig, and has a LED that flashes when plugged in. I can find it in the Adafruit Bluetooth Config app, as well as in the Mac Bluetooth dialog ...

This is still a problem. Does the DX Spots window not like the /7 ? I have tried many work arounds, but cannot get this cluster station to show spots.

Help please,

Re: DX Spots window doesn't like the '/' character

The problem seems to be limited to one of the DX Cluster sources.

When I get spots from DX Cluster WS7I, spotting station K2PO/7 -DOES NOT- get listed on the DX spots window.

When I get spots from DX Cluster HamAlert, spotting station K2PO/7 -DOES- get listed on the DX spots window.
