Icom Auto Discovery

image_0122

The IC-7610 and IC-9700 provide two COM ports on one USB jack. Both are using the same name and macOS suffixes one port with a number. It seems, there is no rule for the name and it can be changed after each power cycle. This results in a reselection of the port used for CAT control. Chen, W7AY found a solution for this problem and RUMlog has it implemented.
In Preferences–>TRX–>Transceiver CAT you can set the option Auto discovery. When this option is set, you don’t have to select the CAT serial port name, RUMlog will find the correct port for you when it is needed. You still have to set the other options.

This works for the IC-7300 also, which ine provides one port only.
