After upgrading to OS X 10.11 RUMlogNG began to hang/crash on my system. I've happily run RUMLog and RUMLogNG on previous OS X versions with no noticeable problems.
But under 10.11 recent RUMlogNG versions (v 2+) hang/crash frequently. Typically RUMlogNG will run ok for some time then hang/crash with the spinning beach ball and the OS X Activity Manager shows RUMLogNG "not responding" and I have to do a force quit. After that 1st force quit RUMLogNG will not restart - the RUMlogNG icon unhappily bounces up and down in my tool bar. I have to force quit it again. Then my system has to be restarted/rebooted before RUMLogNG will restart normally.
Anyone else experiencing similar issues under 10.11?

RUMLogNG problems on OS X 10.11
Re: RUMLogNG problems on OS X 10.11
Do you use CAT? When yes, which chipset is used? Could be a driver problem, some important changes were made in 10.11.

Re: RUMLogNG problems on OS X 10.11
Yes - I run CAT with my K3 and P3. I assume you are asking about USB-RS232 CAT cable chipset? I am not sure of chipset but I think it may be Prolific PL-2303
When I added P3 (before OS X 10.11) to my station my Elecraft KUSB cable would not work with my K3/P3 CAT combination. My KUSB would function only with K3 CAT alone.
I replaced KUSB with a USB-RS232 adapter cable from local electronics store. It worked OK. But perhaps it's not OK with 10.11?
My KUSB did not work with K3/P3 CAT before 10.11 but maybe it will work with 10.11 ??
What do you suggest Tom?
I'm going to install the latest driver I can find for the PL-2303 chipset and see if that helps.

Re: RUMLogNG problems on OS X 10.11
The Prolific will cause trouble. You can check it in the System Profiler under the USB section, when the cable is connected. There is a walk around to use a Prolific under 10.11, you should search for it in the web.
If you have a FTDI chip, make sure you use the latest driver from the FTDI site b

Re: RUMLogNG problems on OS X 10.11
Thanks Tom.
I found a new v1.6 certificate signed OS X driver dated 10-22-2015 on Prolific's web site.
------------
Revision Change:
====================
v1.6.0: Add code sign certificate to driver for Mac OS X security requirement. Only supports Mac OSX 10.9, 10.10, 10.11.
----------------------------
http://www.prolific.com.tw/US/ShowProdu ... 29&pcid=41
I've installed this new driver and so far OK and hopefully this will resolve my problems - but will need a few days to be sure it doesn't repeat the previous hangs/crashes.
I'll add info here of results after several days running.
Tnx

Re: RUMLogNG problems on OS X 10.11
As of today I've had no more RumLogNG hangs/crashes since installing the latest version of the Prolific chipset drivers mentioned above.
Tnx to Tom for pointing me in the right direction!
