moin in die erlauchte Runde,
bei meiner bevorzugten AFu-Tätigkeit (DXen, Contestbetrieb in S&P) benutze ich z.Zt. noch die DXLab-Suite oder N1MM unter Win7/Bootcamp auf meinen Macs. Der einzige Grund, noch nicht davon Abschied zu nehmen und endgültig für den Funkbetrieb auf OSX/RUMlog um zu steigen, ist die dort schmerzlich vermisste Rotorsteuerung.
Dave, AA6YQ, hat die Rotorsteuerung in DXLab für verschiedene Rotoren so integriert, dass ein Mausklick und/oder shortcut genügt, um z.B. die Antenne short pass oder long pass auf die DX-Station aus zu richten, nachdem via DX-Cluster das Log vorab mit den Daten gefüllt wurde. Bei 'weak ones' und Split-Betrieb wird der OP so nicht weiter durch Bedienung des Rotors abgelenkt. Mit N1MM-Rotor ist das ähnlich.
Es wäre mehr als schön, wenn Tom eine Rotorsteuerung in RUMlog integrieren könnte ... ich weiß, es gibt da kein einheitliches Protokoll bei den verschiedenen Rotorherstellern.

Ich bin damit einverstanden, dass die Zugabe von Rotor-Steuerung wäre eine hervorragende Ergänzung RumLog sein, aber Tom hat es nicht nötig auf seinem Platz.
Vielleicht, wenn wir alle in gechipt und kaufte Tom, einen Turm, Rotor und Yagi-Antenne? ;-o}

I agree that the addition of rotor control would be a terrific addition to RumLog, but Tom has no need of it at his station.
Perhaps if we all chipped in and bought Tom a tower, rotor and Yagi antenna? ;-o}

Oh, I own a 40 feet tower with a KT-34XA and a WARC Spiderbeam on top. BUT I don't have a computer interface to my rotator, and I don't have any problems to reach the controls while operating.

We are looking for some more comments, if users wish a rotator control.

Als Logging Programm verwende ich UCXLog, für ernsthafte Contestteilnahmen haben wir bei DK0IU WinTest oder früher N1MM eingesetzt. Alle genannten Programme können selbstverständlich einen Rotor steuern und wir machen sowohl beim DXen als auch im Contest davon dauernd Gebrauch. Amateurfunk-Software ist das Einzige, was bei mir noch Windows erfordert. Ich würde liebend gern auf Parallels Desktop und Bootcamp auf Mac verzichten und bei einer Mac OS-basierten Software dabei sogar Einschränkungen in Kauf nehmen. Als CW-Operatur von ZD8D habe ich Rumped zu schätzen gelernt. Fehlende Rotorsteuerung ist für mich aber ein No-Go.

Currently I don't have a beam up but hope to by the end of the year. At that time I'm sure I would appreciate rotor control.

K6OQ is one of my Mac/RUMlog converts I help; he has a 90' Skyneedle with a Monstir so I know he would also like the convenience of rotor control.

Like I say though, I consider it a convenience and maybe even a luxury but it would be nice if not too difficult to incorporate.

I think it would also address the concern of some others that perhaps have not switched to RUMlog because of rotor control.
