Backup Hints

Unread post by K9TF »

I just thought I would pass this along.

I have just started to back up 2 files. LOG.RSD and EDITDXCC.APP seems that these 2 files are the hardest to replace and to rebuild. I am sure that there are a few others.

I had mess things up real good on this end. I am still not sure what happened. I think RFI got into the logging program. So I had to re-download RUM log and rebuild my files. I have decided to do this right along with using Time Capsule. The older I get the harder it is to remember where I put things. I am sure there are other reasons to do this.

It is not required to backup the "EditDXCC.app" file. This is just an application, no data are stored within this file. The data are hold in the "DXCC.rsd" database. When you use a hard modified dxcc database, you should backup this file.
