Elecraft K4 Band scope - some day?

Unread post by VE3DS »

I found that N1MM now has experimental bandscope from K4 with showing station calls...rather than the present band map....
connection to K4 is via network control port.. K4 IP ADDR:9200 port
Spectrum level data is sent on the next higher port.
The stream is not IQ but pixels/bucket?
Wayne N6KR (n6kr@elecraft.com) has specs.
It would be a nice project and also to add the K4 to the "rigs" list.
( Yes most is same as K3 but not all hihi)....
There is a programmers manual...

https://elecraft.com/pages/manuals-downloads

This probably is a big project, but would sure be interesting as so little macOS stuff out there ....

RUMlog has this as well for Icom. With a local skimmer it's a great tool. Click to tune, scroll to tune, etc... But I can't code this for a rig I don't have on my table.

I was reading thru the programmers manual:

Data Streams:

Raw IQ, dB/bin

But I am not sure if all are implemented fully...

Access is via IP, or USB, or RS232...

It is interesting to see as Elecraft continue to refine the K4, adding new features etc. Dana Ve3DS
