WSJT-X and Rotor

Unread post by komradebob »

I'm trying to get rotor to point my antenna at the station I've just selected to work in WSJT-X. I click on the station, but it does not appear to be seen by rotor in the UDP broadcast. MacLogger DX sees it and looks the station up, but rotor doesn't seem to do anything. I have the wsjt-x box under auto rotor checked and port 2237 set. Am I missing something obvious?

I'll add that it says the UDP listener is started and the line 'WSJT-X Status' is grey'd out.

Thanks!

Embarrassingly, a reboot of the Mac and restart of the rotor controller solved the problem.

Thanks!

To add some further detail, in order to talk to _both_ rotor and MacLoggerDX, WSJT-X should be set to use multicast, not unicast UDP. So, in WSJT-X, set the address to use as 224.0.0.1 port 2237 instead of 127.0.0.1 port 2237. This will send the traffic to both. If you use 127.0.0.1, only one will get the UDP packets.
