4.4.15 Won't Run

Unread post by k2qo »

Hi Gang,

Another question. I loaded the latest version onto my newish Intel MacBook Pro. When I start the application, I get this error message.

An exception of class NilObjectException was not
handled, The application must shut down.

Any ideas?

That's not a good starting point.   Go to your Home folder and look for the file „RumLogOwn.plist“ in the /~/library/preferences folder. Delete this file and try again. I noted few crashes during start up as well. I was not able to find the problem yet, since this happens never in the development environment.

Thanks Tom. The plist file deletion/creation fixed the crash.

Now how about my question on the G5? If that would work I can buy new Mac stuff, upgrade the XYL **AND** buy an iPad!

Fine, when you have the file still in your trashcan, please e-mail me the file for investigation.
RUMlog should run on a G5, why do you don't try it out?

Then maybe it was not RFI that caused my issue.

I had to delete all my version of RUMlog off the computer. I haunted down all of my K9TF.rsd files as well and deleted those or renamed them. I then downloaded 4.5 again and installed it.

Seems that the program hunted various parts of the older programs on the computer.

Sure glad I have Time Capsule to restore what I needed to, to get going again. Hope this helps.
