help with CAT settings for Yaesu 991
help with CAT settings for Yaesu 991
I would appreciate any help in configuring settings for a Yaesu FT991. There is a USB connection on the back of the radio so I don't need a USB to serial cable, which I assume means I don't need a driver either. Is that right? If so, how do I set the preferences? If that's not right, do I need a special USB to USB cable with a chip set in it? And/or what driver do I need, since I am not converting USB to serial? Thanks, Russ WQ0N

A simple USB A-B cable should be sufficient. For a USB connection, you will always need a driver. But maybe you have it already on your system. Easy to check: When you can see the TRX CAT port in the list of available ports in the TRX preferences a driver is already installed.
When not you have to install the driver. YAESU uses chips from 'Silicon Labratories'? Not sure: http://www.silabs.com/products/mcu/page ... s.aspx#mac

I am having the same issue with RumlogNG not correctly reading my FT991A. it sometimes get the data correct but it does not follow the radio if you turn the dial. I have the current driver installed and other programs like JT8Call and Wsjtx read the frequency and can change the frequency on the radio. I need to help to get this working om n FT991Awq0n wrote: ↑Sat 11. Feb 2017, 03:50 I would appreciate any help in configuring settings for a Yaesu FT991.
