Just to be sure, I checked again the serial com with rotctl:
rig_flush: called for serial device
serial.c(629):serial_flush entered
tcflush
serial.c(661):serial_flush return(0)
write_block called
write_block(): TX 7 bytes

read_string called, rxmax=32
read_string(): RX 15 characters

What is rotctl?
In the query string is an additional space before the end terminator. Rotor doesn't send it, but this shouldn't matter when using the original Arduino sketch. Do you use the original SARCNET sketch?

rotctl is the rotator control as part of hamlib (rigctl and rotctl).
Yes, I'm using the original Sarcnet Arduino script version 6.
