Unread post by DL2RUM »

Hi folks

Three new features where added in RUMlog 3.2:
1. Logging of QSOs from cocoaModem is possible now via AppleScript
2. Macros in the Telnet terminal allow now to send frequently used commands to the cluster just by a mouse click or via menu short cuts.
3. RUMlog can alert you via e-mail about new ones or selected call signs

Thanks to Rick, K6LE and Flavio, IK3OCD for the hints.

Read the attached What's new??? file in the RUMlog folder.

Once I got the email settings right under the LoTW tab the text alerts work great!

In fact, yesterday when I was outside getting the BBQ ready I got an alert for a new one. Came back in here to the "Ham Shack" was able to quickly work him and then back to the BBQ!

Thanks,
Rick Prather

One bug is fixed and one improvement was made:
The system menues and -textes are now in english again.
When you have set a dx alert and the e-mail sent out fails, you will get now an info about the reason for better trouble shooting.

Two smaller features were added:
After program start the log is set now to the last logged frequency and mode, not longer to 21005 in RTTY. This is affected only, when you don't have a TRX connected.

The new ADIF tags (since ADIF spec. 2.2) <LOTW_QSL_RCVD> and <LOTW_QSL_SENT> are used now. The tag <app_rumlog_lotwqsl> is only used for ADIF import now, and not longer used for the export function.

Hello Tom..

Great.

Are you thinking of supporting the rest of the ADIF 2.2 tags?

If not, would it be possible to append the tags and values as you parse them to the notes field?

I'm speaking of tags whose values are not null.

tnx for a great program.

Other new ADIF tags?

Unread post by DL2RUM »

Hi,
which tags do you mean? Unfortunately the site http://www.adif.org/ is not up to date, and shows only 2.19. So I don't know other new ones. Currently RUMlog works in the following way concerning the Note field:
For export RUMlog uses the <comment:> tag for the text in the Note field.
For import RUMlog uses the <comment:>, <qth:> and the <name:> tag to put all into the Note field.

Any further suggestions are appreciated.

Hello Tom

Oops.. I have the ADIF 2.0.

Specific tags I'm referring to are PFX, CNTY,RIG,AGE..

However, now I realized from your reply that export would consider the whole note field as

a comment. I didn't think about that.

So ignore my idling..

tnx. again for a great program.
