Call not matched

Post by NF4L »

Occasionally when I double-click a spot, I get a pop-up with the message "Callsign not matched". What does that mean?

This message pops up, when you query qrz.com for a specific callsign and the information for a different station is returned. This alerts you, that the data in the qrz.com box may not be correct for the station in the callsign entry field.
The problem is, qrz.com doesn't support portable callsigns. Please try to query FS/DL2RUM once in qrz.com and once in HamQTH.com. You will se the problem. That's one of the reason, I don't use qrz.com any longer.

Thanks, Tom. I'll disable QRZ.

I've removed my username and password from preferences, and Auto QRZ item in the QSL menu is un-checked. I still get the "Call not matched" message. :?:

You have to disable the Auto qrz option in the QSO menu :!:
Do you work so many portable stations?

Auto qrz option in QSO menu is unchecked. Auto HamQTH is checked. Does it respond in the same way?

It seems I work one or two each time I sit at the radio.... :D

HamQTH.com is doing the same job, but provides more accurate information. I.e. a separate nickname and QTH, not only the postal address.
You have to set your HamQTH.com account data in the preferences.

Thanks, Tom.
My question was, since I think I have all the QRZ stuff disconnected, could it be the HamQTH search that's still giving me the "Call not matched" message?

Oh, sorry.
Only qrz.com is affected. For HamQTH.com I haven't seen this problem and therefore there is no software x-check provided.

Hmmmmm......Oh well, it's not a show-stopper. However if something pops into mind between sessions of working on rotor control.....
