Since a new prefix (E6) was issued for Niue on 3 Aug. I tried adding it to dxcc.rsd.
In the Prefix tab I added this line: E6 ZK2 2012-08-03 2012-12-31
I changed the entry for ZK2 end date to 2012-08-02
I saved the entry and reloaded into RL.
When I enter E6 in the Callsign field, it turns red and I get Unknown DXCC.
What have I done wrong?
Can the dxcc.rsdxxx files be deleted safely?

Re: Change DXCC for QSO
It seems, you haven't made it wrong. When I'm doing exact the same, it works okay here.
You cane delete the dxcc.rsdxxx files, I have to deactivate this backup feature in the program. It's my fault.
Is ZK2 still a valid prefix for Niue or is E6 to use now only? I assume E6 will be used only now.
Then we have to change the primary prefix to E6 as well. In EditDXCC use: Menu-->DXCC-->Change DXCC Prefix
Restart RUMlog and after that, all your Niue QSOs will be listed as E6. I guess ZK2 will later be used in ZL, so we have to add an entry in the prefix list:
ZK2 ZL 2012-08-03 2030-12-31
Find attached the modified dxcc.rsd database. I changed the Main prefix from ZK2 to E6. After a RUMlog restart, all your affected QSOs will be converted without any action.

Re: Change DXCC for QSO
Thanks, Tom -
The problem was I was in Post QSO and the date was in 2007.
Actually the dxcc.rsdxxx is comforting to have a backup if one really messwes up using editdxcc.
I don't know what will happen to ZK2. If it reverts back to ZL, then I suppose it would have to have dates set in the prefix tab so that past QSO's with Niue would not become orphans. I'm going to leave it as is for now until we get some clarification from the DXCC desk. I'll send an email, and let you know what they say.
I will look at the .rsd to make sure I understand.
