Sort bug

Unread post by ww2dx »

Hi Tom,

Loving the the software :) Also got rig tracking to work using the Kenwood setting with the K3.

Couple things,

1. When I try to sort the log view by date so that the newest contact is at the top this setting will not stick. As soon as you do anything, lookup a call etc, the log view will return to last entry at the bottom.

2. If you do a partial lookup the log view goes away (expected) but as soon as I clear the field the log view does not return, I need to manually select the pulldown for "Show this year only" then back to "Show all qso's".

Are these bugs or am I doing it something wrong?

BTW, the dxcluster spotting alerting is just perfect <grin>.
Also, going to give RUMped a go during the WPX CW.

Hi Lee,

tnx for the feed back. Both are no bugs, but good ideas to improve RUMlog further more.

to 1: that's right. It should be no problem to add this.

to 2: to reset the input fields use the Menu-->Log-->Clear Fields (Command W) or just press the Escape key. This is much more easier than to use the back space. But I will keep this in mind, if somebody like to do this.

Thanks Tom for the quick reply.

Sounds good, and esc key did the right thing.

Couple other things.

1. When I enter partial calls like for instance VP6 then tab to the next screen I would expect to get a listing of previous worked calls with that prefix.

2. Also on with the VP6 call, I can't seem to figure out how to get the logger to check for Ducie Island VP6/D, I tried entering VP6/D -D etc etc and I only get pictairn island or unknown DXCC. I have VP6DX W/C on many bands but can't seem to get the listing.

Tnx!

Re: Call Check

Unread post by DL2RUM »

Hello again,

To 1: After pressing the tab key RUMlog will check for full call signs only! If you want to do partial call check, you have to use the Search Window.
Search.tiff
Search.tiff (42.88 KiB) Viewed 8793 times
Search.tiff

To 2: RUMlog can only show you info about the DXCC, when the DXCC is recognized. This works normally with all calls, but not with some special prefixes like VP6/D or KH8/SI. But you can edit the DXCC database to meet your requirements. Use the EditDXCC application, which is located in the RUMlog folder to add a call VP6/D:
EditDXCC.tiff
EditDXCC.tiff (53.1 KiB) Viewed 8793 times
EditDXCC.tiff
EditDXCC.tiff (53.1 KiB) Viewed 8793 times
Then it should work fine for you.

Joker added

Unread post by DL2RUM »

Since 3.0.5 a partial call check is added. This should work in the way you like.

For a quick QSO search in the main logging window it is allowed now to use the joker: % You can place one or multiple jokers at any place in the call sign. Press the tab key to see the results.
An example: The (partly) result from DL%M is:
Pasted Graphic.tiff
Pasted Graphic.tiff (22.4 KiB) Viewed 8772 times
Pasted Graphic.tiff
Pasted Graphic.tiff (22.4 KiB) Viewed 8772 times

Hi Tom,

Just had a strange anomaly. I uploaded my latest log to LOTW (Via MLDX) Haven't had time to figure out the qsl export yet in RUMlog.
I see I had some new QSl's. When I had RUMlog read the data from LOTW it showed that some of the Q's were not in the log, but in fact they are.
Here is a screenshot. What did am I doing wrong? I imported the log from MLDX and other Q's do show up fine.

Thanks,

Hi,

we have had this problem before, but I was sure this is fixed now.

It could happen, when the seconds in the QSO time do not match. How did you do the import? Direct from the server or via a downloaded ADIF file? How did you imported your QSOs in RUMlog?
It would be helpful, when you can e-mail me your log and the downloaded QSL adif file.

Hi Tom,

I exported my log from MLDX (ADIF) and imported into RUMlog. MLDX logs look like this after export ADIF.

Here is the actual V31MR entry that RUMlog does not match.

<MY_GRIDSQUARE:6>FN31en<CALL:5>V31MR<OPERATOR:5>WW2DX<NAME:15>Edward Reynolds<ADDRESS:24>11214 Olde Mint House Ln<QTH:18>Tomball, TX, 77375<STATE:3>TX,<GRIDSQUARE:6>EK57um<QSO_DATE:8>20080325<TIME_ON:6>011329<TIME_OFF:6>011329<FREQ_RX:7>10.1090<FREQ:7>10.1110<BAND:3>30M<MODE:2>CW<QSL_COMMENT:15>dob: 1941-12-31<DXCC:2>66<RST_SENT:3>599<RST_RCVD:3>599<TX_PWR:3>111<CQZ:1>7<NOTES:15>dob: 1941-12-31<EOR>

As for the downloaded QSL adif file, do I do this through RL or is that through LOTW?
