RUMlog ver. 3.0.5 is ready

Unread post by DL2RUM »

RUMlog is a logging, QSL handling and printing tool for your daily use and supports multiple logbooks. It is especially designed for the short wave DXer, but logging on other bands is possible as well.
RUMlog includes routines and tables to support you for grey line dxing.
Using RUMlog you can print QSL card labels and manage your incoming paper QSLs. The Logbook of The World is fully supported. You can get different statistics for paper or LoTW QSLs. It’s just a mouse click to upload or download new QSLs to/from the ARRL server.
RUMlog can use the ON6DP QSL manager database to inform you about managers or addresses.
RUMlog keeps you up to date about worked and/or confirmed DXCCs and provides you with country lists.
RUMlog can establish a dx-cluster connection via the internet or via packet radio. A simple terminal is integrated. RUMlog will separate DX-spots and alert you when there is a "new one".
RUMlog can interface with your transceiver, setting the main parameter on your TRX from the logbook or vice versa. Kenwood, Elecraft and Icom transceivers are supported.
RUMlog has import and export functions to allow exchange of log data in different formats to other logging tools.

A documentation file is included in the package, but you can read it here separately: http://www.dl2rum.de/rumsoft/RUMlogDoc.html

3.0.1 Bug fixing

Unread post by DL2RUM »

Version 3.0.1 fixes a major problem when processing QSL records from the LoTW. QSOs were not recognized, when there were seconds>0 in the QSO time.

Thanks a lot to Rick, K6LE

Bug Fixing in 3.0.2

Unread post by DL2RUM »

Two bugs were fixed in 3.0.2:

When searching for DXCCs or QSOs in Digi mode, PSK QSOs were not included. That's corrected now.
Thanks a lot to Karl-Heinz, DF7KHK

The dx spot filter was not working correct. In some band/mode combinations not all selected spots came through the filter.
Thanks a lot to Javia, EA4AAE

Another LoTW bug fixed in 3.0.3

Unread post by DL2RUM »

Another LoTW failure is fixed now. When you have imported QSOs and sent these QSOs to the ARRL, the returning data sets may not correct recognized by RUMlog.
When you have had these problems, you have to send the QSOs again using the 3.0.3!

Thanks a lot to Rick, K6LE

Minor improvements in 3.0.5

Unread post by DL2RUM »

1. An "Auto Connect" option was added to the dx-cluster tab in the preferences window. When this option is set, the last connected dx-cluster will be automatically connected, when you open the telnet terminal window. This will safe some mouse clicks.

2. An "Auto UTC" option was added to the general tab in preferences window. When this option is set, RUMlog will ask your operating system to determine the utc offset. This may be helpful, when your computer clock is set to local time, and will change to/from daylight saving time twice a year.

3. New logging time option added. A 'DM2XO' option was added on a request of the most critical RUMlog user Rudi, DM2XO. It works similarly the Auto option, but the time 'stopps' whenever a call is entered in the call sign field. This allows to log the QSO end time.

4. The log table resets now, when you empty the call sign field using the delete or the back space key.

5. The log table keeps now the sort column and direction after log changes.

For 4. and 5. thanks to Lee, WW2DX for the hints.

One more thing in 3.0.5: For a quick QSO search in the main logging window it is allowed now to use the joker: % You can place one or multiple jokers at any place in the call sign. Press the tab key to see the results.
