New User Questions

I have used N1MM Logger for contesting for several years. I wanted to find a contest program for the iMac, and came across RUMped. It sounded interesting, so I downloaded it just before the IARU HF Championship July 12-13, 2014.
The program worked great, and pretty much acted the way I expected it to. Then the contest was over and I wanted to create/export a Cabrillo file to submit my log and also an ADIF file to submit to Log Book of the World. That is when I realized there is no "Menu" option on the program screen.
I had read through the documentation and saw all kinds of possibilities through menu options. But my screen does not seem to have any way to get to the menu.
Another problem is that there is no "Red Button" in the top left corner of the screen to allow me to close the program. Also there is no "Green Button" to expand the screen. I was not able to grab a corner or edge of the screen to expand it during the contest, which I also would have liked to do.
Trying to figure this out, I also clicked on the "MakeMasterDat" application, and discovered that there is no way to close that window, either, although it does have a "Green Button" to expand it to full screen.

HELP!
Thanks.

Don't know, why you have no menu. But since you have found the Cabrillo export window, there must have been a menu before.
The logging window can't change the size, it is fixed. The whole application is useless without the main logging window, that's why you can't close it. Use the menu the close the application. Please note, a lot of other applications are still active and running without any open window. A Windows system works in a different way.

No,I have not found a Cabrillo export window. That is one thing I am looking for. I read about it in the documentation file, but on the program itself I have no options at all. Was there another piece that I need to run or start? Without a menu, I cannot close the application at all. Well, I suppose I can turn off the computer, but that doesn't seem like a very good way to end a program, and I am not sure if it will start back up by itself, since it was open when I turn off the computer.

Perhaps I should have also mentioned that the version of RUMped that I downloaded appears to be 3.2.8.

Perhaps it will be a stupid answer, however...

You will not find any menu on the program scree. I'm not sure how familiar with MacOSX you are. When you run application, menu will appear on the menu strip which is located on the very top of your computer screen. If you have RUMPed in front of all other applications (click on RUMPed anywhere), you will see its menu on the top. There's an apple sign in the left top corner, then RUMPed menu, then File, Edit, Log etc... To get Cabrillo file you have to go to Log menu, click Export and using the drop down menu choose Cabrillo and click Save. Then just follow instructions from there.

Duh! Thanks Daniel. I am still learning about the Mac. Of course I've found the menu bar across the top for all the other programs! I guess I was just focused on finding a menu option on the screen I was in. So, I tried again and found the menu bar and all the options I needed. Certainly not a stupid answer, just a stupid operator asking a stupid question!

I'm glad you've found it. It's a common problem for people starting their adventure with Macs so don't worry ;)
