For transmission, the Elecraft K3 internal routines are used. The K3 must be configured as TRX, because the CAT interface is used.
For RTTY demodulation, cocoaModem will be used.

Mostly I use this combination as you can see here: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=166

Thanks. Nice to be able to do FSK with the K3.

I noticed on the demo mov that the F key labels show above the RTTY window. I don't see them anywhere on my version (latest and latest cocoa modem).

As of yet I do not see a way of going into a "terminal mode" for rtty(K3 tx cM rx) to have a casual quick exchange during a contest.

Not sure what do you mean. You can assign a F-key for quick exchange.

So you are saying that the only way to transmit in Rumped is through an F Key macro?

Quite often just before, during or after the contest I might have a short qso with someone without having to go to a different rtty program. You can do this in N1MM and Writelog just using the keyboard.

There is a keyboard mode as well. :D
Menu-->Transceiver-->Keyboard Mode or just Command K. Works similar for CW, RTTY and PSK. ( Don't know, why in the TRX Menu :?:)
Once in keyboard mode you can start typing. Press Command T to start transmission, press command R to switch to RX when all text is sent or press Escape to abort.
