RUMped 2.0 Beta 26 (Multiple band maps, own RTTY Interface)

Unread post by DL2RUM »

• Separate exchange macro for Running or S&P mode. (ESM mode)
• Grayline Map added
• Own RTTY and PSK interface, cocoaModem's interface not longer required. Tnx to Chen, W7AY

I have not changed the documentation yet. There are a lot of new features, and I have to rewrite the whole docs. Read here a short discription:

Operating:
  • You can toggle now the ESM mode using the ESM button in right hand lower corner.
  • While in S&P you can enter now the received control number, even when the station was not worked. When you come back to this frequency, call and rprt will be added automatically. See the QSO menu to toggle this option.
  • The F6 macro is used now for the exchange number while in S&P mode when ESM mode is selected.
Interactive Grayline map
  • Use Menu-->Window-->Grayline Map to show the map. This window is free resizable.
  • The path will be drawn during a call entry.
  • Mouse click into the map to draw a path from your location.
  • To draw a specific path, hold down the Command key while clicking the start point, mouse click for the end point.
Own RTTY and PSK interface
Use Menu-->RTTY(BPSK)-->Show Tuning aid to select the own interface. cocoaModem's interface is not longer required.
  • cocoaModem min. version 0.67 required - tnx to Chen, W7AY for made all the new features possible
  • In RUMped you have to select the RTTY Wide Band Interface, in cM the Lite interface
  • Discover the new menu entries in the RTTY and BPSK menu.
  • The controls are similar to the interface in cM. Mouse click in the waterfall or in the spectrum to set rx and tx tones. Control mouse click to sets the rx tones only. The click buffer works also in the same way.
  • When the mouse pointer is located inside the RTTY controls in the lower part, you can use the left/right arrow keys for fine tuning. Hold down the command key for a corse tuning.
  • One difference: the lower audio tones are always on the left hand side! There are 3 different bandwidths available:
Wide: 500-2500 Hz, Narrow Low: 500-1500 Hz, Narrow High: 1500-2500 Hz, FSK, pending on your tone setting: 1110-1610 Hz or 1960-2460Hz
My special thanks goes to the German Ham radio magazine "Funkamateur" http://www.funkamateur.de/, for providing the excellent dxcc map.
